Felicia has matured into a bay black beauty, but with her Mom's big beautiful eyes and her Dad's dark good looks and proud carriage, how could she go wrong? Her 2005 fiber profile was great, with a micron count of 19.6 and comfort factor of 97.8, and her fleece was still very nice after her first pregnancy with an SD of 4.43 and a CV of 15.93.
Felicia has only been to one show -- Full Fleece Halter at AlpacaMania 2005 –- where she just got nudged out of 2nd place. Judge Tim Lavan described her class of 9 yearlings as very difficult to judge, saying the group as a whole had some of the finest, softest handling fleece in the show. In fact, the 1st and 2nd place winners took the Color and Reserve Championship ribbons for Dark Females.
Felicia's dam, QAI Cream Puff Penny (now deceased), was imported from Chile and had very striking vicuna-like fawn coloring. She was compact with good bone and had large, dark alluring eyes that she passed on to all her crias. Her golden fiber was uniform in character, with good handle and sheen, and Penny produced many exceptional crias, including 2 blue-ribbon herdsires.
Felicia's sire, WVR's Renegade, is a rare charcoal rose-grey color, with density and uniform fiber architecture. Renegade has sired crias in every color, including tuxedo-front silver and rose-greys, solid grey and rose-greys, blacks, browns and light fawn. Renegade has recently moved to the midwest, so Felicia's paternal bloodline should be in high demand on the West Coast for many years to come.
Felicia's first cria was the spitting image of Penny, her maternal grandmother, so we named her Cedar Glen’s Penique, which means "penny" in Spanish. Felicia has now had her 2nd cria, Lucero's Feliciano, and "Fleecy" is turning out to be the spitting image of his sire. Felicia is a wonderful mom. She has had easy births, bonded with her crias right away and knew exactly what to do to get them nursing. What more could we ask?
Felicia will not be bred this year because we are simply running out of space in the pastures, but if you decide to purchase her, we would be glad to breed her to a CGA herdsire of your choice, as well as throw in an additional future breeding.

Penny is compact with large bones and has large, dark alluring eyes that she passes on to all her crias. She is a great mom with abundant milk along with being an easy breeder & birther.
Penny's golden fiber is uniform in character with good handle and sheen and is always in great demand by hand spinners. This trait has also been passed along to her crias. |
