| Battings/Felt: 100% Alpaca Battings
|

Quilters! For that extra special project, now you can add a touch of luxury by incorporating alpaca batting in your fine handcrafts. You might ask, what's so special about alpaca batting? It is naturally flame retardant, warm, lightweight, washable, organic, and hypoallergenic. Our alpaca battings are very soft and, unlike wool, they contain no lanolin and require much less pretreating and cleaning than wool.
Pros
-- Extremely warm and lightweight
-- Alpaca stays warm when wet, but doesn’t get that unpleasant smell that goes with wet wool!
-- Most people are not allergic to alpaca fiber.
Recommended quilting distance: Up to 8”.
Caution: Needs very careful washing and drying—may shrink if agitated when you wash it. Never put a quilt with alpaca batting in the dryer—the heat and tumbling motion will ruin it. To protect from moths, store with a dryer fabric softener sheet.
